ElectroBraid® Cut-Off Switch

ElectroBraid® cut off switches add flexibility to your ElectroBraid® fence by allowing you to isolate short circuits and conveniently cut-off power to select fencing lines as needed—without adding time or labor to your day.

ElectroBraid® Cut-Off Switches are designed for long life and easy installation. High-quality construction includes an integrated handle that protects contacts and on/off positions that are easy to see.

When the grass gets high, wouldn’t it be handy to disconnect only the bottom live wire?

We created our high-quality cut-off switch for that purpose. Use the ElectroBraid® Cut Off Switch to switch off selected electric wires on a fence, such as the lowest live wire when the grass is high and might interfere with the electric fence.

Note: While grass and weeds do not significantly affect ElectroBraid® fence, heavy wet tufts of grass, or bushes and branches pressing against ElectroBraid® can drain power and cause some loss in voltage. We suggest mowing weeds and clearing bushes and branches from the immediate fence area at least once a year.

How do I use cut-off switches for easy mowing?

Install an ElectroBraid® cut-off switches on the lower fence lines so you can easily turn off only the lower lines when it’s time to mow. Wire your energizer as illustrated below.

How do I use cut-off switches for snow

Heavy, wet snow can short electric fencing. To prevent this, install ElectroBraid® cut off switches in areas prone to snow accumulation. If needed, you can install multiple cut-off switches that allow you to progressively turn on and off the bottom strands as snow depth changes. Wire your energizer as illustrated below.

ElectroBraid® Braid will not rust, rot, lose strength due to sunlight or weathering, break when installed as a permanent fence or prove defective in workmanship or material. Any reel of ElectroBraid® Braid that is defective will be replaced at no charge to the purchaser. This warranty is in effect for 25 years from the date of purchase.

put on a water station. i can disconnect two sections of fence w/out returning to barn & fencer. also can disconnect in winter to ease snow load on fencer.

We bought some shut off switches so we could disonnect one pasture and not all when working on them. Also, to shut off bottom line if grass is tall and dry, like in the fall. We have been very pleased with Zareba products.

Q.What metal are the nuts, bolts & washers made of? It is a bad idea to use a metal besides copper or brass as the point of contact within the cut-out switch since the mating wire will be copper. The galvanic corrosion will erode the thinner copper wire.

The bolt and nut are stainless steel.  The washers are galvanized. Dielectric grease can be used on the connection point to stop corrosion.
