Description

Fi-Shock® Garden & Pet Energizer

Protect your garden greens and flowerbed beauties with the Garden & Pet Electric Fence Energizer from Fi-Shock®. This battery-powered fence charger works with your electric fence kit to provide a mild, corrective shock whenever a pet or pest comes in contact with your fence.

GARDEN PROTECTION

electric fence chargerThe Garden & Pet Electric Fence Energizer will be a huge help to gardeners looking to protect their prized plants and flowers from rabbits, gophers, groundhogs and other small pest animals that love to dine in the garden, flowerbed or pond.

Set up your electric fence around the perimeter of your favorite flowerbed, garden or pond and attach the Garden & Pet Electric Fence Energizer. Whenever pest animals come in contact with an energized fence, they get a zap that makes them think twice about ever coming back again.

ANIMAL SAFETY

While the Garden & Pet Electric Fence Energizer delivers an electric shock to anything that comes in contact with it, there’s no real threat to the animal. The shock is intermittent – about one zap every second – and that gives animals ample time to react between each charge.

Further, the electrical output is relatively low, about 7.5 kilovolts, and ideal for small animals, including those that are dog-sized and smaller.

SIMPLE POWER SOURCE

The Garden & Pet Electric Fence Energizer runs on two D-Cell batteries. You don’t need to attach it to your electrical system or run power cords into your garden.

HOW TO INSTALL

  1. Install energizer in an area sheltered from severe weather.
  2. Run insulated wire from your fence.
  3. Run insulated wire from the ground rod.
  4. Install batteries and test with a fence tester.

It works wonderfully. I tested it with my finger. :) Now let's see if it keeps the squirrels off the peach tree.

Great product By David

I have purchased two of these, one for each of my bird feeding stations. The problem WAS that a raccoon consistently knocked down and damaged my expensive feeders. I have configured these around the base and the feeders are raccoon free!

This unit rocks! By Toe

Had trouble w/ varmits chewing wires and nesting under hood. Tried traps, bait, blinking lites, hood-up...nothing worked...then I hooked up this zapper and problem solved. Here in the sierras we have a big problem w/ marmots chewing wire and hoses and I recommend this unit to all.

Worth More Than the Cost By marvinlzinn

I have used this about 7 years to protect my garden mostly from groundhogs and rabbits. I obtain only social security payments, so can barely live on that, but the fences prevent loss from most of my food all summer.

Good Battery Life By Doe Hunter

Easy on batteries. I've had it guarding a small deer food plot that I had to replant 3 times because of deer hammering it just as it got started. Running about 600' poly and touched it by accident with wet feet. Yeeeooow! Batteries still good after 6 weeks. Very pleased.

I can finally grow tomatoes! By VAgardner
I've purchased 2 of these Garden & Pet Electric Fence energizers/kits over the past couple of years because they are so amazing! Before I had them, I couldn't grow tomatoes successfully because animals would steal the fruit, but now I grow enough tomatoes for preserving all summer. I love this thing!

Q&A
Q.Question about: Fi-Shock® Garden & Pet Energizer What material is suitable for the stakes to hold chicken wire in place around a home vegetable garden; my problem is Squirrels! Can I attach the fence to wood posts? Is there a clearance distance from soil to metal fence? Thank you, Ray
A.

We apologize as electric fencing is not recommended for squirrels. However, when installing an electric fence, we recommend using single strands of aluminum, galvanized steel or poly fencing rather than mesh chicken wire. Wood or metal posts will ground out the electric fence if they touch, so insulators must be used if attaching the wire to these posts. The wire will need to stay at least four inches off the ground to keep it from grounding out.

Q.Is this the low impedance charger?
A.

This energizer is not low impedance, however we have several energizers that are. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-FISHOCK (1-855-534-7462) for additional assistance.

Q.I just purchased this DC system and it only beeps and flashes when turned on, Batteries Replaced Ground rod secured any suggestions?
A.

This energizer has a pulsating output for safety. When the unit is turned on, a red light will flash to indicate the energizer is working correctly. There may be a slight ticking noise when the voltage pulsates through the unit, however it is not designed with this feature. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-FISHOCK (1-855-534-7462) with any questions or for additional assistance.

FAQs

Q: What is the voltage output of this fence charger?

A: The two D-Cell batteries that power this fence give it a 7.5KV charge, which can fluctuate by 20%. At that power level, it’s enough of a deterrent to keep small animals away from the fence.

Q: Why isn’t the fence charger working?

A: There are a number of reasons why your fence charger may not be delivering a corrective shock. Try these solutions:

  • Test the current set of batteries and install new ones as needed.
  • Make sure the batteries are installed properly.
  • Properly secure the battery cover.
  • Reattach the connections to the ground wire and the fence wire.
  • Remove any plants that are touching the electrified wire.

Q: Do I need ground rods for this fence?

A: Yes. This charger only needs one small ground rod – a 2-foot long galvanized metal or copper rod is sufficient. Bury it in the ground about 10 feet away from the fence and attach your grounding wire to it. The ground rod is not included with this energizer.

Target Pests: Small animals, such as rabbits and groundhogs, as well as pets.
For Use In: Backyard gardens, flowerbeds, orchards, pond borders and other outdoor sites.
Power Source: Two D-Cell batteries
Output Voltage: 7.5KV +/- 20% open circuit voltage
Pet Safe: Pets receive a brief, corrective shock that trains them to stay away from the fenced area.

Special Features: Ideal for areas without electricity. Mounting stake included.
