Poor quality product not worth buying By Wpanhandler

I have minimum of 14 deer that test my fence regularly. Installed 12 of these almost 1 year ago. Installed on T-post as directed. After about 2 months I noted decreased fence voltage immediately after rain. Voltage Found to be arcing over insulator to steel loop through rain drops/wet insulator. I can tolerate this. By month four, late August, I noted the plastic insulators had a broken wedge out of it..... As of today only 2 of these insulators are still functional , and only one of the functional insulator is being used. More of a better quality insulator would make this an acceptable product. Also a foot on base of loop so tension against T-post would make it stay put better Only 1 star from me

JUNK By HERB

THESE GATE HOOKS/ANCHORS ARE JUNK! THEY DON'T TIGHTEN ON THE POST WELL AT ALL, AND THE PLASTIC INSERT INSULATORS ARE MADE OF HARD PLASTIC AND CRACK AND FALL OUT OF THE RING, NOW YOU HAVE THE REMAINS ON YOUR POST, AND YOUR GATE IS SHORTING OUT YOUR FENCE LINE! SAVE YOUR MONEY! JUNK !

All About

Gate Handles

The general rule of thumb for gate handles is one gate handle for every electrified wire. Electric fence gate handles may be constructed from plastic or rubber.

A standard gate can be used without interfering with the electric fence by running an insulated cable underneath the ground to bring the current to the other side of the gate.

To prevent animals from rubbing or pushing through a standard gate, an electrified wire can be mounted on the gate itself. The use of a sturdy rubber gate handle is ideal for this purpose.

Expandable Gate Handles

Expandable gates are made up of a long spring and an insulated gate handle. The electric fence gate handle is disconnected from the post and then the gate is opened by pulling the spring gate back with the gate handle.

Spring gates expand and keep the electric fence gate taut. It is electrified when closed and neutral when open. Expandable gate handles should be used with these spring gates. They should be molded from tough, high quality plastic with shockproof thickness for safe handling protection.
