Does not hold a charge By PaddyB

Does not hold a charge. Directions included are not for this charger. The directions say to open the charger, pull the internal batteries and charge for three days. I have not found any access panel to remove and take out the internal batteries. Written request for help has not been responded to. So far, a bust.

Response From Zareba®
Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

This energizer comes with the battery already installed. We recommend placing the charger in the sun in the off position for three days to fully charge.

Not just yet By PaddyB

Same issue as Sleepy. The manual says to hook up the internal battery to a power source for three days. But there no is easy access panels to the inside of this charger. Does not hold a charge. I will try again by disconnecting and charging in the off position for three days to see how that works. Stay tuned.

Not sure if we like it yet. By Sleepy

Looks good--worked great at first on a 1/4 mile fence. Later, on a cloudy day, had no spark at all. It may be a short we haven't yet found--or may have come new with a faulty battery. Far from home, we'll check further later.

How long was the unit charged before it was used? We recommend placing the energizer in the sun in the off position (disconnected from the fence and grounding) for three days. This will ensure the battery has enough voltage to keep the fence line energized, even on a cloudy day.

Waiting for spring to form final opinion. Great price for powerful solar charger. By Steve

I bought the fence charger before the pasture season has started, so I haven't used it yet. I had been looking for a deal on a solar charger with ample power to turn cattle and handle some weed pressure and couldn't resist the sale price on this model.

Q&A
Q.What is considered heavy vegetation as it relates to a solar fence charger?
A.

Our article linked below has some graphics to show the difference between no weeds, light weeds, and heavy weeds, and includes some great information regarding chargers and weeds. We recommend one of our Low Impedance chargers when weeds will be present.

Why Weed Control is Important to Your Electric Fence System

Q. Hello I buy or solar charger and I'm wondering the button which Way is on or off because it's not mark down  unit code. ESP6V-RSS.
A.

The On/Off switch can be found under the solar panel. If the switch is flipped towards the front of the energizer, it is in the off position. If the switch is flipped towards the back of the energizer, it is in the on position. When the energizer is turned on, the indicator light will flash and a light clicking may be heard.

Q.What components do I need to stop dogs from digging under a wood fence? Fence is about 450 feet around perimete. With three gates at separate locations. Need to keep dogs inside.
A.

The basic components of an electrical fence are the energizer, fence wire, insulators, posts, and grounding rods. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322) for additional assistance.
