Mosquito Magnet® R-Octenol

The EPA registered Mosquito Magnet® R-Octenol is a secondary attractant that mimics human breath, drawing mosquitoes and biting insects to the trap.

Mosquito Magnet® R-Octenol works the same as regular Octenol, but lasts 40% longer - up to 30 days!  This is ideal for Executive  or CommanderTrap owners running their trap on mode 4 as the propane tank lasts 30 days in this mode.

Mosquito Magnet® R-Octenol attracts most mosquito species, including salt marsh mosquitoes, as well as no-see-ums and black flies. It will lure biting insects to the Mosquito Magnet® trap where they are captured, then dehydrate and die.

Using a secondary attractant is critical to the performance of your Mosquito Magnet® trap. Once mosquitoes sense the carbon dioxide from the Mosquito Magnet®, they need secondary attractants, R-Octenol, Octenol or Lurex³™, to hone in on the trap.

Who should use Mosquito Magnet® R-Octenol?

People who live on the coast or Northern regions of the U.S. should use R-Octenol to attract mosquitoes, no-see-ums and black flies.

The R-Octenol cartridge should be replaced every 30 days. After 30 days of use, the cartridge appears the same; however, it will no longer be effective as the R-Octenol will have been released. The catch rate will be reduced if the attractant is not changed.
