This is a switch is rare exception. The stainless steel hardware and overall "feel" of this switch is very good. However, the plastic base is far to light and flimsy and really detracts. In the winter, snow and ice sometime drift up on my fence and put pressure on the wire... I have had multiple switches break because of this... always the plastic base. I learned to tie the wire off with a screw in plastic insulator BEFORE the switch to protect these delicate devices. This past weekend I was installing a couple on a wood post, and the screws on two of them (despite my care) actually DROVE RIGHT THROUGH the plastic base. I needed to fix them with washers. Zareba... please strengthen the plastic base... and you will have a homerun with this product!Date published: 2016-07-18Rated 1 out of 5 by 123sam from poor product Broke right after installed. When you tighten the wire at the pivot point and move the handle, it breaks at the base. Was able to get a second one to work by buying a longer bolt and a second nut, so I could tighten the wire without locking the handle in place.Date published: 2016-08-13Rated 1 out of 5 by fruitguy from stainless blade Broke when tightening the first bolt too lightly made plastic cheap and thin.Date published: 2016-07-08
