Review Rate Excellent, product, good price and free shipping. This tried and true fencing is perfect for my horses. I have never had it fail to carry current and it has enough body to stand up. It's high visibility barrier should also deter moose and deer from coming into the yard.(I hope!) The price is competitive and the shipping was free. . Customer Service was helpful, however, I found it difficult to find the 2 in" gate handles I needed with the triangular connector.

Review Rate Easy setup, high visibilityBought this a month ago and it seems to be holding up well. Keeps the horse in and other animals out. -
Review Rate Very durable product! We have a small horse farm that we have placed electric tape between pastures to ensure we have no injuries between pastures where fighting can sometimes be an issue. This 2 inch Zareba tape is built differently than your standard electric tape. It is alot heavier and holds up better in the elements. We will be eventually replacing all our electric tape out with this particular size. Great product!

Features and Benefits
- Highly visible to animals
- Lightweight
- Wind passes through, low wear & tear
- Convenient to install and repair
- Will not rust
Ideal Uses
- Excellent for horses
- Temporary fencing
- Rotational grazing
- Equine fence kits
Zareba® Systems electric fence polytape provides even greater visibility than polywire or polyrope. Reinforced, rip-stop edges also help protect the tape from wear and tear.
The open weave design allows wind to pass through, reducing wear and increasing the longevity of the fence line.
Splicing polytape is easy using specially designed splicer buckles. Use a polytape tensioner to maintain tape tension as needed.
For best results, energize polytape fence lines with a low impedance fence charger. Polytape should not be used with a continuous output charger.

Expert Tips
WIRE SPACING
The height and spacing of the wires will vary with the animal you are containing. Position one electrified wire at animal’s shoulder height; this will cause it to hit the fence with its nose, making it back up.
POLY TAPE
Use poly tape for horse fencing or in rotational grazing since the animals can easily see this highly visible electric fence wire. Splice poly tape with splicer buckles specially designed for easy splicing and repairing of poly tape.
POLY WIRE
Poly wire is lightweight, so it is very easy to handle. You can rewind it very easily, move it and re-use it. Splice poly wire by tying a good, tight knot to maintain connections. Use a poly wire line tightener on each line and each side of the fence to maintain wire tension.
POLY ROPE
Also highly visible, this electric poly rope is also used for horses and livestock. When repairing poly rope, use a splicer designed for poly rope to maintain a good electrical connection.
FENCE CHARGERS FOR WIRE
Use a low impedance fence charger with poly wire and poly tape products.
PERMANENT PERIMETER FENCING
For a permanent perimeter fence, you may want to use high tensile or steel wire as your fence wire.

Fence Wire FAQs
Q: Why is poly tape better for use with horses than regular wire?
A: It's a matter of visibility. Horses can see the tape more readily than wire. Remember, electric fencing is a psychological barrier: after a horse has met up with a poly tape electric fence and has felt the shock, when it sees the poly tape again, it will remember the shock and stay away from the fence.
Q: Why should I place one wire at the animal's shoulder?
A: Positioning one electrified wire at animal’s shoulder height will cause the animal to hit the fence with its nose, making the animal back up. See illustration below.
Q: Won't poly tape succumb to wear and tear?
A: Poly tape is designed to withstand wear and tear. The open-weave design allows wind to pass through it, reducing wear and increasing longevity of the fence. However. logically poly tape will not last as long as steel wire.
Q: What kind of fence wire do I need?
A: Generally, use the most highly visible fence wire you can afford -- for the simple reason that animals can't avoid a fence they don't see. For horses, many owners prefer polytape in conjunction with steel wire. For other animals, yellow and black poly wire may do. And high tensile systems require high tensile steel wire.
