Garbage..indicator light failed after a few months. It only puts out 4.5 k voltage.

What are the physical dimensions of Model# EDC5M-Z? Need the physical size to decide upon the size of a waterproof enclosure, a very basic consideration. I agree with the other customer feedback about the very generic users manual; it is not for any particular model, and completely lacking the most basic info like dimensions of the unit, mounting tabs configuration (screw hole size), weight, etc. Ditto for the web "specs" that leave out too much basic info like this. I suppose you may be figuring people can figure this out after they are holding the unit in their hands, but recommend you publish such basic information to save customers like me the time to go get the waterproof enclosure box after buying your product. I intend to buy your product, but this lack of info is delaying my decision, and also delaying how long before I have the unit installed and doing what I am buying it for. Thank you.

Piece of junk. I have gone through two of these in the last 4 years. They only last about two years and that's with light use. Once the warranty is up, circuit board, capacitor, something craps out. Since they own most of the brands in this price range, they have a pretty good business model going. Do yourself a favor, spend the money up front to buy a quality brand, or get on the every two year purchase program, your choice!

Good product....responsive company, fair price.

The order came promptly, and the unit has been working fine so far, but I have only had it a short time hence the 3 stars - who knows how long it will last. Easy to set up. Screw attachments for the wires are not that rugged, all plastic threads, which threatened to strip if tightened up the way I normally would. Main gripe is with the instruction book which was entirely generic and not specific to the unit I have. In particular, no info at all about what kind or rating of battery is recommended, so one is left guessing.

Used it to contain horses on a back country CO elk hunt.. Battery life was great...It worked for 2 weeks straight !

We use these fencers in all of our honeybee yards to protect the hives from bears. We store the fencer unit and the battery inside an empty beehive within the fence parameter. The key to success, in our case, is the bacon we tie to the fence wire every 8 feet or so. The bear instead of snacking on our beehives is enticed to sample the bacon and he gets taught a lesson that beehives lead to a shocking experience. :)
