Helpfulness
Good product. Have used the 1" tape and recommended splicers for 5 years.

Good product. Have used the 1" tape and recommended splicers for 5 years. Because all the conductive parts are Stainless steel, they still conduct as well as they did when new. The exception is if tree limbs fall on the tape or deer run into them, some of the wire strands in the tape break. But, it's easy to patch.

Poor splicing conection

I purchased all the product from Zareba to re do my horse turn outs. They were electric but were old wire electric fencing and had been added to many times. We planned out and re did gates to get maximum flow for the fence. I set up my 2" poly and used the buckles recommended to splice. Once set up I had no shock past the first turn out. After checking we found that we lost 1000 V at each splice so once we had 3 splices we had no power. We followed the instructions they provided. We called but they were not helpful. So now I have good looking poly tape fencing that I will now have to go run another wire so it will shock.

Hello Julia,
Thank you for sharing this experience. When using a poly tape or poly wire on a fence, it is important to understand that the voltage output of the energizer will typically be dropped in half. Each splice in an electric fence will also slightly drop the voltage seen on the fence line.
In many cases, when changing from a bare wire fence to a poly fence, a stronger energizer would be required. We apologize for this experience and would like to learn more about the fencing setup. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322) for troubleshooting assistance.
