Use 1 inch polytape fence line to provide a highly visible rotational grazing perimeter for your horses and other livestock. Constructed from a bright white poly material, this polytape electric fencing will stand out well in your pasture. As a result, horses and livestock can easily navigate your interior fencing.

Zareba® electric fence polytape is lightweight and easy to use -- put it up and take down in just a few minutes. This makes Zareba® 1 inch Polytape ideal for installing temporary fencing or to help you institute a rotational grazing plan.

As with all polytape fencing, use it in conjunction with a permanent perimeter fence.

This polytape is constructed from a durable, UV-protected poly weave, which enhances the tape’s weather and sun resistance. Zareba® 1 Inch Polytape features 8 stainless steel conductor strands to provide excellent conductivity along your fence line.

The wire in this polytape will not rust. Further, Zareba® has designed this polytape to allow wind to pass through it, which limits wear and tear during rough weather.

With a breaking load of 320 lb, this fence line can also withstand a certain degree of physical strain, including occasional animal pressure or fallen branches.

Great visibility and durability By Zelica

I've tried other products and they just tear. This product stands up to high winds! Easy to check every morning prior to letting out the horses! One down fall, won't keep escape artist mini in! Had to install hot wire on the bottom. Highly recommend!!

I live in N. Georgia and we have a large population of deer, rabbits, raccoon, skunk, etc - even a few black bear. In past years, any attempts at gardening have had few results as the indigenous population consumed the majority of our plants before they could bare fruit. (and I use/have tried numerous deterrents, active and passive) I used this tape to run three strands around the garden, connected to charger and so far it has protected the garden from all comers. The tape is easy to work with, seems to be of high quality, does not sag and so far - no sign of wear and tear or weathering (thought it has only been in use 10 weeks so far). Once the summer growing season ends, I will run a strand around the back perimeter and see if prevents the deer from foraging my fall flowers.

Zareba® Systems electric fence polytape provides even greater visibility than polywire or polyrope. Reinforced, rip-stop edges also help protect the tape from wear and tear.

The open weave design allows wind to pass through, reducing wear and increasing the longevity of the fence line.

Splicing polytape is easy using specially designed splicer buckles. Use a polytape tensioner to maintain tape tension as needed.

For best results, energize polytape fence lines with a low impedance fence charger. Polytape should not be used with a continuous output charger.

Expert Tips

The height and spacing of the wires will vary with the animal you are containing. Position one electrified wire at animal’s shoulder height; this will cause it to hit the fence with its nose, making it back up.

Use poly tape for horse fencing or in rotational grazing since the animals can easily see this highly visible electric fence wire. Splice poly tape with splicer buckles specially designed for easy splicing and repairing of poly tape.

Poly wire is lightweight, so it is very easy to handle. You can rewind it very easily, move it and re-use it. Splice poly wire by tying a good, tight knot to maintain connections. Use a poly wire line tightener on each line and each side of the fence to maintain wire tension.

Also highly visible, this electric poly rope is also used for horses and livestock. When repairing poly rope, use a splicer designed for poly rope to maintain a good electrical connection.

Use a low impedance fence charger with poly wire and poly tape products.

For a permanent perimeter fence, you may want to use high tensile or steel wire as your fence wire.

Fence Wire FAQs

Q: Why is poly tape better for use with horses than regular wire?

A: It's a matter of visibility. Horses can see the tape more readily than wire. Remember, electric fencing is a psychological barrier: after a horse has met up with a poly tape electric fence and has felt the shock, when it sees the poly tape again, it will remember the shock and stay away from the fence.

Q: Why should I place one wire at the animal's shoulder?

A: Positioning one electrified wire at animal’s shoulder height will cause the animal to hit the fence with its nose, making the animal back up. See illustration below.
