Will snow be an issue on lower wires?

We recommend disconnecting the lower wires during periods of heavy snow to keep the fence from grounding out.

We do not recommend using solar panels to power AC fence controllers such as the Zareba® 10 Mile AC Powered Low Impedance Charger, as these units are designed to operate from a standard AC electrical outlet. Because of this, we are unable to recommend a solar panel size for that model.
If you are looking for an off-grid option for use in North Louisiana, we do offer solar-powered fence energizers that are specifically designed for reliable solar operation.
