This indicates that voltage is being sent to the hot terminal. We recommend testing with an electric fence tester to determine if there is enough voltage on the fence line.

Can I hook the terminals to a 12v car battery. Will it work and will it charge it.
Question by: Paul Frisella on Nov 23, 2024, 11:07 AM
Please note that solar chargers are specifically designed to be charged by sunlight, and they are not intended to charge car batteries directly. They typically convert solar energy into electricity to charge devices or batteries through solar panels. We recommend using a DC charger instead if you're looking for a solution to charge a 12V car battery. DC chargers are designed to be connected directly to a car battery and provide the necessary charging power.

Can I get a replacement solar panel for the ESP5M-Z fence charger?
P/N is SGP-2W9V for the panel, but I cannot find a replacement. The one I have has no output as measured with voltmeter.

We use the solar unit for our garden and it works great. During the winter we being the unit inside. Is it best to keep outside connected with the unit off? Or when bringing inside should we keep it in a location that it gets light?
Thank you
Thank you

Hi, thank you for reaching out!
There’s no need to keep the unit connected during the winter. You can bring it inside and store it. When you’re ready to use it again, let it charge for 3 days in the "OFF" position under direct sunlight to ensure it's fully charged.
