Thank you for purchasing the Zareba® Lightning Arrestor! To ensure the proper setup and performance of your system, please make sure to connect the fence wire to the lightning diverter and ground rods using an American Farm Works 20,000V underground/hook-up wire for all connections. The lightning arrestor should be installed at least 50 feet away from the charger. It's important to note that the arrestor will not reduce the voltage on the fence line. If you notice a reduction in voltage when the arrestor is attached, it typically means the arrestor may need to be replaced. If your fence has multiple strands, you can use a lightning arrestor on each strand for added protection. To test the arrestor, use a voltmeter between the two terminals—if it reads an open circuit, the arrestor will need to be replaced.
