Charger Distance Ratings
The amount of fence line that your Zareba® charger can operate depends on several factors, including the type of fence line you’re choosing. While the 30-mile charger can operate in high weeds as needed, vegetation, weeds, and fallen tree branches may limit the distance electricity can be carried along a fence line. Ensure your fence is working to the best of its ability by regularly walking the fence line to check for disturbances.

Solar Power Built to Last
To prepare your charger for use, switch the on/off button to the “off” position and allow it to receive 3 days of sunlight. From there, the charger is ready for use! The solar panel is designed to store solar energy and it will last up to 2 weeks without sunlight.
Easy-Grip Knobs
Connecting your fence is simple with the easy-grip knobs on your 30-mile solar Zareba® charger. Attach the fence’s ground wire to the post with the green knob and the live hot wire to the red knob. Remember to turn your charger off before making any connecting wire adjustments and then turn it back on so it continues to gather solar energy. Knobs are designed to be under the charger to reduce exposure to the elements. The durable cabinet protects the circuitry from weather extremes.

I have had one of these units for six years and had to replace the battery last year. Sits out on the post all year in all elements. Really surprised to hear the bad reviews. It has work well for us and are planning to get another one for our other pasture.
These are expensive pieces of junk. They won't give years of service that they should for the price. I have owned 2 of these. The first didn't last out the warranty.isent it back to the company for repair .it came back and didn't last a week Gli had to have a charger and purchased another.it lasted past the warranty and quit also. These cost a lot and won't deliver service very long. Please don't waste your hard earned money on these..also the repair center at serena do err any fix the boxes that are supposed to be warranty either. Buyer beware .

I had 6 of the 10 mile units. Works well for about 4-6 months. I had problems with the on/off switch on 4 units and corrosion on battery connection terminals, and had to put corrosion protective material on all units. Battery’s don’t last and expensive to replace with new ones. Finally got tired of having to fight with these units in the field. Units are sitting on shelf in barn. This was a big investment for our farm with little benefit. We have since switch to another Solar brand with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I would rate these units 3 on a 10 scale.
We are sorry to hear about this experience and would like the opportunity to learn more. This charger is covered by a two year warranty, and the average battery life is 3-4 years. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322) for additional assistance.

Charger does not last

We loved the charger at first, and then the charging system just stopped working. We thought it was the batteries at first, replaced them and still could not get it to last more than a few days. I have to run an extension cord to use a plug in charger, so we liked having a solar charger. It lasted about a year and half.
We apologize for this experience. How long was the energizer charged after the batteries were replaced? We recommend charging the unit for three days in the sun in the off position. Our Consumer Relations Team is happy to provide additional assistance. Please feel free to contact us at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322).

I bought this to fence in a 15 acre pasture. Worked great for six months then has not worked since. Sits in wide open field in direct sun all day. I will never buy one of these again
We apologize for your experience and appreciate this feedback. We recommend to perform a no load test using a fence tester. The no load voltage should be 7,800 volts.
Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322) for further troubleshooting. This energizer is backed by a one year warranty.

I have two of these units. I cannot keep them running! The first was replaced by Tractor Supply shortly after I purchased it. It would only put out about 3k volts. The second one operated satisfactorily for about a year then the voltage dropped to 1.5K volts. I have had both units repaired, one twice, and the other one just last fall. At $90-120 a pop. They are not in continuous service and currently, one has an output of 3.5k . volts and the other 1.5k volts. They have been in direct sunlight for about 5 days each. The batteries check out OK. I will not invest another dime in these units. Obviously they are not reliable. On a positive note, when they worked they were effective, producing around 9k volts.
This fencer does a great job... really has a lot of zap to it, if you know what i mean..... even a week of cloudy/ rainy winter days lets this fencer keep on snapping
I put this charger up for bear protection for my bee hives. Way to early to tell if works or not, but so far it hasn't failed. We'll see in a few years. With the small area and the juice, I hope it knocks Boo Boo on his behind.
