ZAREBA® 1/4 INCH POLYROPE, 3,280 FEET
With Zareba® ¼ inch white polyrope, create a highly visible electric fence line that’s ideal for horses. This lightweight polyrope is highly portable and easy to install as you set up temporary equine fencing. For rotational grazing, you can set up polyrope fencing in conjunction with a permanent perimeter fence. Included in this purchase is a total of 3,280 feet of Zareba® polyrope on 5 reels. This polyrope features 9 strands of highly conductive stainless steel wire, which also makes it effective for other livestock containment needs.
IDEAL FENCING FOR HORSES AND OTHER LIVESTOCK
Electric fencing for horses is best when its highly visible. Zareba® had this in mind by providing this ¼ Inch polyrope – it’s thicker than wire and poly wire while featuring a bright white color to help it stand out from the surrounding countryside.
Lightweight and easy to use, this polyrope is designed to be installed and taken down quickly. This provides the flexibility needed to set up temporary fencing or change a pasture design while using rotational grazing.
Further, polyrope fencing won’t cut or dig at an animal’s skin when they push against it. The poly wire’s electric fence charger provides the deterrent, not barbs or sharp corners.
Zareba® polyrope is designed for use with UL Listed fence chargers only. This rope is not intended as the sole means of restraint for any animal.
DURABLE CONSTRUCTION AND HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE
Zareba® 1/4 inch polyrope is made from a durable, UV-protected poly line, which enhances its weather and sun resistance. This polyrope features 9 stainless steel strands to provide excellent conductivity. With a tensile strength of 713 lb, this fence line can also withstand a great deal of physical strain, including animal pressure and occasional fallen branches. Also note another benefit: Zareba® polyrope’s stainless steel conductor strands will not rust.
5 Pack Bundle
With the 5 Pack Bundle, you get a total of 3,280 feet of electric fence line. This polyrope is loaded on a total of 5 reels, with each providing 656 feet of electric fence line. To assist you with installation and takedown, consider adding an easy-to-use Zareba® Wind-Away Wire Winder to your order.

Review RateAwesome polyrope
Strong, tough rope with nine strands of stainless steel wire - not 6. The only way to go!
Review RateGood stuff. My horse hates it.
With about 1900 feet of rope using Zareba 10 mile charger, I'm averaging about 7500V.
Review RateWonderful productAmazing!
Review RateAmazon ReviewI had never used polyrope before. I have a precocious 20 yr old gelding that thinks he is a 2 yr old. He is mischievous and constantly in trouble. His mother was nicknamed Houdini and I think he has inherited her slippery tendencies. He can clearly see this rope and I have not had a minutes trouble with him since I installed it. I had used wire before and the rascally horse would manage to short it out and tear it down. Once I installed this and let him out he went right up to it with in about a foot of the rope and stopped. He looked at it and turned his head side to side then turned and walked away. He keeps his distance. I don't know how he knows what it is but he seems to be aware. I am extremely pleased with it.

POLYWIRE / POLYROPE
Features and Benefits
- More visible than traditional wire
- Convenient to install, repair and rewind
- Will not rust
- Temporary fencing
- Rotational grazing
- Controlled grazing
Poly wire is a good fence choice since it is more visible than traditional metal wire, lightweight and installs easily. Polywire is easily tightened, spliced, repaired and rewound. In addition, it can be re-used again and again.
Use a poly wire tightener to maintain wire tension as needed.
This convenient wire can be used for temporary grazing, strip or rotational grazing and pet control. Polywire should not be used with continuous output chargers
Polyrope is another excellent high visibility choice for your fence line. It is stronger than polywire, with stainless steel strands woven through the rope.
The steel strands ensure maximum electrical energy is carried through the fence line at all times. Use a splicer to maintain a good connection. Most poly ropes are about 1/4 inch in diameter.
Note: For best results, use a low impedance fence charger to energize poly wire and poly rope fences. Polyrope should not be used with continuous output chargers.
The height and spacing of the wires will vary with the animal you are containing. Position one electrified wire at animal’s shoulder height; this will cause it to hit the fence with its nose, making it back up.
Use polytape for horse fencing or in rotational grazing since the animals can easily see this highly visible electric fence wire. Splice polytape with splicer buckles specially designed for easy splicing and repairing of poly tape.
Polywire is lightweight, so it is very easy to handle. You can rewind it very easily, move it and re-use it. Splice polywire by tying a good, tight knot to maintain connections. Use a polywire line tightener on each line and each side of the fence to maintain wire tension.
FENCE CHARGERS FOR WIRE
Use a low impedance fence charger with poly wire and polytape products.
PERMANENT PERIMETER FENCING
For a permanent perimeter fence, you may want to use high tensile or steel wire as your fence wire.
Fence Wire FAQs
Q: Why is poly tape better for use with horses than regular wire?
A: It's a matter of visibility. Horses can see the tape more readily than wire. Remember, electric fencing is a psychological barrier: after a horse has met up with a poly tape electric fence and has felt the shock, when it sees the poly tape again, it will remember the shock and stay away from the fence.
Q: Why should I place one wire at the animal's shoulder?
A: Positioning one electrified wire at animal’s shoulder height will cause the animal to hit the fence with its nose, making the animal back up. See illustration below.
Q: What is the advantage of using high-tensile wire rather than aluminum wire?
A: High tensile wire is designed to be both a psychological barrier and a physical barrier.High tensile wire not only carries a shock, it is also sturdy enough to prevent a large bull from penetrating the fence line (as long as it has been installed correctly.)
In addition, aluminum wire can stretch out over time as tension is applied to it (very slowly).High tensile wire will not stretch; this affordable barrier can last for many, many years.More Expert Tips About Fence Wire»
