Polytape is a unique wire material that is lightweight and easy to wind.
The kit includes three reels of bipolar polytape, enough to form a perimeter of up to 900 ft.
A post-mounted charger that runs on four D batteries (not included), as well as additional posts, stakes, tie-down cords, connector cables and warning flags are also included.
An on/off switch and quick disconnect feature enable you to avoid shock when entering and departing the corral.
Components are durable enough to withstand the rigors of the road, ensuring your kit will provide you with many years of dependable service.
No need for a separate grounding system — self-contained grounding — due to the bipolar tape in this kit.

Excellent Portable Stall - Originally posted on Amazon.comJanuary 07, 2012

With a small two stall barn I have never had a spare stall for my friends to bring their horse's over. The Zareba Portable Stall has finally changed that. It only took me about 20 minutes to set up and it provides a huge space for one horse or adequate space for two horses provided they get along. Because of its ease of use I can set it up when needed, and then tear it down and store it away in its own bag the rest of the time. I don't show, but I think it would make a great accessory for anyone who does. It is so compact it wouldn't take up much space in your trailer and then you could stall your horse anywhere on the show grounds.

This is very easy to put up and works great. No problem for a man to carry, but it is a bit heavy for me. We have a friend that also has one and we were able to combine them both to make a 60x60 fence. It keeps the horses in just fine. These are really great for endurance rides. Another friend uses this same exact portable corral but for his bees instead of for his horses. What he does is he uses it to surround his bee hives with as a protective measure - it keeps the bears out of his hives, which had been a problem. So the shock is definitely enough to keep the black bears out too!
Better charge than other portable electric corrals, a little harder to set up - Originally posted on Amazon.comMay 11, 2011

I have used portable electric corrals for camping trips for many years. This review will focus on the differences between a `traditional' portable electric corral with all step-in posts (similar to the Zareba Kwik Korral), and this newer style EZEE corral.
The EZEE electrical system works way better than the `traditional' portable electric corral. The traditional corrals require you to set a ground post. It is often difficult to get good ground contact with the short post for the portable system, particularly in dry/sandy/rocky soils, and I end up with a corral whose charge barely tickles. With the EZEE system, the grounding is contained within the tape that makes up the corral. You get perfect grounding every time. The "zap" is much stronger than what I typically get from the traditional portable charger. The result is a corral that your horse will respect.
The EZEE corral does take a little more time to set up than a `traditional' electric corral. The biggest hassle is the four corner ground posts. To install a single corner post: 1. You secure a black plastic spiked square into the ground. Theoretically these can be stepped in, but I had to use a mallet to get into my fairly soft soil. 2. Then you drive a plastic tent spike down through the black plastic square. This spike is theoretically optional, but my results were not good without it. 3. Now you fit the reel system on to post and secure it. 4. Then fit the hollow post over the black plastic square. (It is VERY difficult to remove the post from the black square if you follow directions. The post has two holes near the bottom and some "buttons" on the black square poke through to secure it. I CANNOT remove the black square from the post, as my hands are far too small to span the post and press in both buttons. My husband also had difficulty with this task. I have found that by positioning the post a quarter turn "off" so that the buttons are not aligned with the holes, it's a far more manageable task and the posts are still secure.) 5. Lastly, set up two guy wires to secure. I was hoping this was optional. It is not.
Once you have all four corner posts, it's super easy to set up the rest of the fence. The tape reels work great, and the electrical connection between each post is strong. The step-in posts in the middle of each side are easy to set. The charger is extremely easy to connect, although installing and removing batteries is more of a chore than it should be. All told, it takes me 25 minutes to set up this fence, and about 15 minutes to take it down. That is compared to 15 minute set up and 20 minute take down on the traditional portable fence.
The finished corral is up to 30 feet square. That's a very generous size for one horse, and reasonable for two horses. I've uploaded a picture of it set up with two horses in `Customer Images'. When I use this with two horses, I will likely bring an extra step-in post so I can make an unelectrified divider down the middle at feeding time.
This corral has only one `rail'. I was concerned about that, but it hasn't been a problem. The rail is a perfect height for my 14 and 15-hand horses, and would also fit larger horses nicely. You could adjust the height lower for smaller ponies and mini's by simply sliding the reels farther down the posts.
This corral comes in a nice carrying bag. It is easy to fit in all the components if you disassemble everything completely. I was hoping to keep the reels installed on the posts to eliminate one step on set up and take down, but it won't fit in the bag if you do this. The entire thing weighs about 20 pounds, slightly heavier and larger than my traditional portable electric corral.
The corral comes with clear instructions. There are also instructions for ordering replacement parts, if necessary. It's nice to know they're available.
Portable corralMay 16, 2012
I use this fence when trailriding, in camp. It is too akward to carry on the average horse and ride too, maybe on a pack horse, but then it is only big enough for two compatible horses. It isn't a quick up or down, down being more difficult due to to "sticky" inch pins in the stake base. You need a rubber mallet to drive pole stakes and stabilizing tie downpins, which break so I just use WalMart netal steaks with the orange tops. The center stakes which go thru the black pole bases are not durable either so a slick metal rod about 18" long with a pull loop or flattened top for removal works. Then there are the actual four spike square base stakes, don't know how long they will last. The rope supplied with my corral was cheezy so replaced that too. The inabiity to make the pen larger, or even connect two is an issue as well. Lots of little things to cheapen the product to increase profit but the charger at least does it's job well. I do have one norse that plays with the plastic corners, managed to keep from getting 'bit' so far but only a matter of tie. The option of available accessories/replacement parts is, unless something has changed for the better recently, is very frustrating, most parts "aren't currently available in the US yet", for 2 years. The line posts can be purchased at most farm stores so that's a relief, being able to use rechargeable batteries would be nice or a solar charging booster maybe? Argh, but for a perfect world........ The fence does keep the horses in when set up, the winding of the tape is slow and must be streatched/tightened to get all the tape back in. I use mine a lot and changing locations around the yard when used that way is much easier than initial set up. Will probably have local canvas shop build a larger bag to be able to leave corner tape holders on posts and try to find a talented metal worker to make duplicate four cornered post stake bases, someday. The extra visibility for people and horses with the wider tape is nice as well as not needing a ground rod. Maybe when enough are sold and enough reviews are less than totally glowing the company will finally address these issues, or not, they may just quit making them instead. Nice Portable Corral System - Originally posted on Amazon.comMay 07, 2012

This system is an easy to use portable electric fence. It was very easy to set up and take down and took me about 20 minutes to set up. Very large fencing system so its been perfect to set up while resting or while out. The price is a great deal considering other comparable systems are about double the price of the Zareba EZEE Portable Fence. It's a little heavier than I would prefer it to be ( about 20 pounds ) but not bad. Too bad there isnt a way to convert the power, to be able to keep it up. The batteries are still going strong, but batteries only last so long ( but it probably would make it much heavier to move around ) All fits perfectly in the included bag also! I will continue to use this, I think this is excellent and just about any adult will have no issues using this, I wouldnt think it would be a good idea to let anyone under 18 use this because its potentially extremely dangerous!
Generally a good product - Originally posted on Amazon.comFebruary 07, 2012
I've only used it once, so far. However, it was fairly easy to put together and my horses stayed in it. I'm sure it will be easier the 2nd time since much of it can stay together. The only complaint I have so far is the length of the line supplied to stake out the corner posts--there needs to be at least twice as much.

Amazon sent me this and I don't actually own a horse or know anything about horses. I requested it because I thought I might be interested in setting it up when I go camping to try to keep night animals out!
I can't compare it to other coral fences but the charge is strong enough to probably keep small animals away and deer. I'm not sure about bears but hopefully small ones might be dismayed. Having no experience with these, it took me over an hour to set it up the first time but it could probably be done in about half that with some experience. The kit is pretty heavy so you will probably need to set it up close to where you park you car. I don't know if that is important to horse owners or not. Also you really need a mallet to install this properly.
It seemed to me that some of the wiring components were of low quality but I think this is meant for light to occasional use...something you pull out of the barn when you really need it. It produces a pretty good zap but doesn't stand to tall so I guess horses aren't natural jumpers without direction? Bigger dogs could easily jump into and out of this once they figured it out.

This portable electric horse fence does what it is meant to do: keep horses in the 900 sq. ft. confines you can create by placing the posts in a suare at 30 ft. intervals. This "electric corral" is great for camping, which is where it will be used. I had my doubts about the D batteries providing the power, but the horses did not venture beyond the perimeter we set up, so I guess it is strong enough. As to battery longevity, it is probably worth paying the extra $$ to purchase the alkaline or even lithium batteries if you can find them. Works as well as needed.
very useful - Originally posted on Amazon.comMay 06, 2011
My friend purchased this same system several months ago and I was excited to see it on vine because she'll be getting another horse soon and will need to move the unit more frequently than she does now. By having two, she can move it less. I have helped her use it on several occasions, although she is able to set it up by herself. She keeps one horse in it on a daily basis to graze, then moves the unit when a new area is needed. It's fairly simple to dismantle, move, and set up in another area. The only issue is that the stakes can break easily, so I"m glad we have a backup.
Easy set up but it is heavy.. - Originally posted on Amazon.comApril 29, 2011

The unit itself is fairly easy to set up and store. It comes with a convenient carry case (dufflebag style) and fits nicely into a truck bed or trailer closet. I have used mine twice now and it is very effective for keeping my pony contained when traveling. Once you get used to all the parts and where they go set up is fairly quick thought I would suggest having help the first couple times. Also make sure that there is someone to watch your horse while you are assembling this. The only thing I would change is to make the unit as a whole lighter weight ... it is about 18lbs. The price for this is fair and you do get your money's worth for what it is.
